In this class you will construct your own sea life diorama on a brass candlestick. The design will be your own – you get to decide how many harbor seals and/or beluga whales to make and how to top off your sculpture -- with a puffin? A seagull? A wave? The vertical composition is a fun challenge! You will learn the basics of sculptural lampwork and also make small murrini fish to apply to your Story Pole, all while exploring harmonious composition for a vertical element. All the pieces to your Storypole will be created in this class and we will discuss how to assemble it in detail when you get home, including a recipe for a patina that works wonderfully for the brass candlestick base.
